Glossary
Every term we use on the site, explained straight up.
Crypto
- CEX
- Centralized Exchange. A centralized platform (Binance, Kraken, Coinbase). You hand your funds to the platform, which holds them for you. KYC required.
- DEX
- Decentralized Exchange. An on-chain platform where you trade directly from your wallet (GMX, dYdX, Aster, Uniswap). No KYC, but more smart contract risk.
- Spot
- Classic trading: you buy a crypto and you actually own it.
- Perpetuals (Perps)
- Contracts with no expiry. You open a long/short position with leverage and no expiration. Funding rate adjusted every 8h.
- Leverage
- Leverage. Trade more than your capital (e.g. 10x leverage → $1,000 controls $10,000). More potential gain, more liquidation risk.
- Liquidation
- Automatic closing of your position if the price moves too far against you. You lose your collateral.
- KYC
- Know Your Customer. Identity verification (passport, selfie). Required on regulated CEXs.
- Funding rate
- Fees paid between longs and shorts on perps to keep the futures price close to spot. Settled every 8h on most platforms.
- Slippage
- The difference between the expected price and the actual execution price. The lower the liquidity, the higher the slippage.
- Gas fees
- Network fees on EVM chains (Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum). Paid on every on-chain transaction.
- Stablecoin
- A crypto pegged to a fiat currency (USDT, USDC pegged to the dollar). Near-zero volatility.
- Cold wallet
- Offline storage (Ledger, Trezor hardware wallets). The safest way to hold long term.
- Hot wallet
- A wallet connected to the internet (Metamask, exchange app). Convenient but risky.
- L2 / Layer 2
- A scaling network on top of Ethereum (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base). Low fees, high speed.
- Airdrop
- Free token distribution to users (often as a reward for early usage).
- Points farming
- Accumulating "points" on a platform in the hope of a future airdrop.
Adult
- Cam
- A live webcam site. You watch models streaming in real time.
- Livecam
- Synonym for cam. Sites like Chaturbate, Stripchat, LiveJasmin.
- Cam2Cam
- A mode where you turn on your own webcam and the model can see you too. Extra charge.
- Private show
- A private session with a model (1 to 1). Paid in tokens.
- Tokens
- The virtual currency of cam sites. You buy tokens and use them to tip or go private.
- OnlyFans
- A subscription platform where creators sell their content directly. A SaaS model for the adult industry.
- Premium
- A paid service (e.g. Pornhub Premium, a Brazzers subscription).
- Freemium
- A free model with an upsell to paid.
- VR (Virtual Reality)
- Videos compatible with VR headsets (Quest, Pico). 180° or 360° immersion.
- Tube
- A "YouTube of porn" type site: free catalog funded by ads (Pornhub, Xvideos, etc.).
- Studio
- A premium adult content producer (Brazzers, Naughty America, Vixen).
- 2257 Compliance
- A U.S. law (18 USC §2257) requiring age verification of all performers.
Affiliation & Business
- Affiliation
- A model where a site (directory) earns a commission for sending customers to another site (partner).
- CPA (Cost Per Acquisition)
- A fixed commission per validated sign-up. E.g. €50 per Binance account opened.
- CPS (Cost Per Sale)
- A % commission on the customer's first purchase. E.g. 20% of the first token pack bought.
- RevShare (Revenue Share)
- A recurring % commission on everything the customer spends. E.g. 25% lifetime on Stripchat.
- Bounty
- A one-shot bonus (often CPA) for the new sign-up's first actions.
- Hybrid
- A combination of CPA + RevShare. The most common setup in crypto.
- Tracking link
- A unique link with an identifier that lets the partner know where the customer came from.
- Cookie attribution
- A tracking system that credits the commission to the last directory visited before sign-up.
- EPC (Earnings Per Click)
- A directory's performance metric: how much you earn per click on average.
- Conversion rate
- The percentage of visitors who actually sign up after clicking.
